Magazines Canada currently has multiple Board of Directors seats coming up for election. A General Meeting will be called for membership to be able to vote on these new directors. If you are interested in nominating yourself or someone else AND you meet the eligibility criteria listed below, please complete the form.

Please note that Student, Professional Development and Individual Members are not eligible to run for a Board seat.

Magazine Canada Executive Board is opening the call for nominations for 3 board seats to be voted on by the membership at our FY24-25 AGM (date TBA).

As we work to ensure the board reflects the diversity and scope of Canada’s magazine landscape, it is important to provide equitable opportunity for representation from all regions. We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to represent both arts and literary magazines as well as consumer magazines, and we want to ensure that all eligible voices—regardless of location—have a fair chance to participate.

Applicants must continue to meet the established qualifications per the MC By-laws and Governance, and we fully support maintaining the existing standards of excellence and experience required for board service. Our goal is simply to encourage a more inclusive nomination process that reflects the national character of the industry.

Eligibility Criteria(Required)

Magazines Canada has certain requirements to fill in its Board seats. We are currently seeking Board members who represent either Consumer or Arts & Literary titles. We are open to members from across the country to ensure adequate geographic representation. Please confirm you meet the following criteria:

Arts & Literary Magazine (either)

Consumer Magazine (either)

Have been a Magazines Canada member for 2 years or longer

Have worked in the industry for 2 years or longer

You are willing to attend one board meeting a month, plus do some background reading, and respond in a timely and thoughtful manner to emails about Magazines Canada that come up thoughtful the year
