Speaking up!

Magazines on the Hill is our annual Ottawa event where we talk to funders, MPs, Senators, staffers, and anyone who is interested in the cultural and economic life of Canadians. We talk about the great things Magazines Canada and our Canadian Magazines Coalition partners—AMPA, MagsBC, and AQEM—are doing for and with our members. We talk about funding past, present, and future, and how urgent it is to keep funding tied to the economic realities of our sector. We talk about how amazing magazines are, how much they offer their readers, and we bring along as many copies as we can carry to show off and share—and these are very gratefully received. It’s an outstanding and very successful trip, but it’s just one part of a year of advocacy. It’s Magazines Canada’s duty and honour to speak up for our members and our industry—we wouldn’t have it any other way.
