It is Magazines on the Hill time! Every year as the air begins to crisp, we head for Parliament Hill with our delegation from across the country and across the industry to talk magazines magazines magazines! We’ll be meeting with delegations from Canadian Heritage and the Canada Council for the Arts, and using any spare moments to meet with each other—a rare opportunity to see our cross-country colleagues from the MC board and committees, plus the Canadian Magazine Coalition! Then in the evening, we set up our magazine racks, put out our members’ issues, and then MPs, Senators and their staff arrive, and new magazine conversations begin. We’ll be talking about what magazines bring to Canada—outstanding journalism, local insights, national conversations, Canadian jobs—and what we need to keep doing our best work—funding, visibility, and inclusion in future programs. It’s going to be a great night!
