Update on Labelling & Barcoding

Sep 3, 2024

Dear Magazines Canada Distribution Members,

We are writing today to let you know of a small systems outage here at MC HQ. Our system that creates bipads, barcodes, and labels has overheated and lost its power supply. We are pivoting quickly to find an alternative way to provide our members with bipads and barcodes, and will keep you updated on that. If you need emergency assistance with a barcode, please contact James Ross, Operations Manager at james@magazinescanada.ca

Effective immediately, we will be unable to offer labelling. Please ensure that your price and barcode are 100% accurate before sending your magazine to print.

Please be assured that this issue DOES NOT affect our members’ ability to send us their correctly labeled magazines as usual and have them distributed to stores just as we always do. The ONLY processes affected at this time are bipads and barcode creation, which is paused, and the labelling program, which is now ended.

We hope to have a solution within two weeks and will continue to be in touch. If you have questions that are not addressed here, feel free to reach out to any of us.

All best,
Team MC
