The Alberta Magazine Publishers Association (AMPA) and the Magazine Association of BC (MagsBC) have partnered to administer a Canada-wide survey on diversity, inclusion and equity in the magazine industry.
The survey is being conducted in English and French with magazine publishing companies and individuals across Canada including owners, publishers, staff, contractors and freelancers.
We encourage Magazines Canada members to complete the survey as a starting point towards further action as an industry. Please share the survey link with your staff and colleagues in the magazine industry:

The goal of the survey is to gather information on:
- how diverse and inclusive magazine organizations and the magazine industry are;
- the challenges that magazine organizations face in becoming more diverse, inclusive and equitable;
- the strategies that organizations have implemented to become more diverse, inclusive and equitable and to ensure that content represents diverse voices and perspectives.
The results of the survey will be shared with members of national and provincial magazine associations. Individual responses will be kept confidential and only aggregate data will be reported.
Deadline: The survey can be completed in approximately 15 minutes and will be open until March 1, 2021 (deadline extended from February 19, 2021).
Survey research results will be distributed by summer 2021. Sign up here to receive a copy of the report.
If you have any questions or need assistance completing the survey, please contact Suzanne Trudel, Executive Director, Alberta Magazine Publishers Association at director@albertamagazines.com or 403.650.2771.
Thank you for participating. AMPA and MagsBC appreciate your feedback!
