Canada's Creative Export Strategy

September 14 is First Application Deadline for the New Creative Export Canada Program

Earlier this summer, we informed Magazines Canada members about the Department of Canadian Heritage’s launch of Canada’s first Creative Export Strategy to promote Canadian creative industries in export markets. In addition to increasing funds for export activities through existing programs, including the Canada Periodical Fund, a new standalone program, Creative Export Canada, exclusively dedicated to funding export activities, has also been announced.

The guidelines explaining the eligibility criteria for the Creative Export Canada program are now live.

Please note the two application deadlines in the remainder of the 2018 calendar year:

September 14, 2018 for projects whose expenses start between June 8, 2018 and March 31, 2019.

November 16, 2018 for projects whose expenses start between April 1, 2019 and March 31, 2020.

Webinars Explaining Program Details

If you missed the webinars hosted by Canadian Heritage on August 1 and 2, you can review the presentation files online in English and French.

Canadian Heritage is planning to host another set of webinars later this month, where participants can ask questions about the Creative Export Canada program. We will update members when webinar dates and times have been announced.
