In April of this year, Minister of Canadian Heritage Mélanie Joly and the Department of Canadian Heritage launched a review of the federal government’s cultural policies and programs entitled Canadian Content in a Digital World. The first phase of the review consisted of an online pre-consultation questionnaire. The second phase of the review took the form of public consultations, which began on September 13 and concluded on November 25, 2016. The consultations were open to members of the public and direct stakeholders in Canada’s cultural industries sector.
We are pleased to share with our members Magazines Canada’s formal submission to the consultation.
Magazines Canada will continue to closely monitor activity ensuing from this consultation as it affects our members and, more broadly speaking, the comprehensive review of Canada’s cultural policy toolkit.
