On January 17, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne shuffled her cabinet ahead of the June 7 provincial election. Of note is a change in the Tourism, Culture and Sport portfolio: Liberal backbencher Daiene Vernile (Kitchener-Centre) has been promoted into Cabinet as Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport.

Vernile replaces Eleanor McMahon (Burlington), who has been promoted to President of the Treasury Board, replacing Liz Sandals, who is not seeking re-election.

We will schedule a meeting with Minister Vernile as soon as possible in order to brief her on Ontario’s magazine industry.
