The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage, will deliver a speech on September 28 in Ottawa outlining her policy direction and priorities for Canada’s cultural and creative industries in a digital world. Minister Joly’s speech will be livestreamed on Facebook in English and French.
The Minister’s speech (#CreativeCanada) will represent the culmination of a wide-reaching review of federal policies and programs in support of Canadian culture initiated in April 2016. The Department of Canadian Heritage conducted extensive consultations with stakeholder groups across the country, including many Magazines Canada members.
Magazines Canada will provide our members with analysis and reaction to Minister Joly’s speech, paying particular attention to impacts on the Canadian magazine media sector.
