MagNet 2020 and the Arts & Literary Magazines Summit are Going Virtual!
It’s the announcement you’ve been waiting for. MagNet 2020 is going virtual, and registration is open!
MagNet: Canada’s Magazine Conference and the Arts & Literary Magazines Summit have been rescheduled to November 26–27, 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
In light of the public health situation, the team at Magazines Canada has decided to hold MagNet virtually this November so that we can continue to come together and learn as an industry. Thank you to everyone who shared your feedback with us; it is with your help and input that we are able to offer a virtual conference that brings the top-notch programming, stellar speakers and valuable peer-to-peer networking you’ve come to expect from MagNet, online!
As a Magazines Canada member, your MagNet 2020 registration costs $55 for one day or $95 for both days. If you’re not a member of Magazines Canada, registration costs $75 for one day or $125 for both days.
You can choose a full MagNet pass (November 26 and November 27 with two keynote presentations, your choice of breakout sessions and plenty of networking opportunities) or a day pass for November 26 or November 27 (a keynote presentation, breakout sessions and networking opportunities).
The full MagNet pass is the best value for your money, with ample networking potential throughout the two days. But, if you’re only able to attend one day, signing up early is also your best bet to tailor your experience so you get the most from international innovators, domestic experts, dynamic panellists, sponsors, funders, suppliers, advertisers, colleagues and more!
Not surprisingly, virtual MagNet will work a little differently: Each day will start at 11 am (ET) with a keynote session, followed by your choice of two breakout sessions from three different program streams. The keynote speakers are John Wilpers, Senior Director, Innovation Media Consulting, on the most important innovations in media in 2020, and Jael Richardson, Artistic Director, Festival of Literary Diversity (FOLD), on taking critical, transformative action on diversity and inclusion.
There will be daily networking opportunities, live Q&As, and a virtual MagNet Square to interact with our wonderful sponsors. All MagNet sessions will be recorded, and they’ll be available afterwards so you can revisit all the highlights. Here are the 25+ speakers you can hear from, and here is the complete virtual event program.
We look forward to seeing you in November and to serving up outstanding professional development and networking opportunities to you all at MagNet and the Arts & Literary Magazines Summit online. Stay tuned for further details and check out the line-up online.
