On April 24–25, over 400 delegates attended the 2019 MagNet superconference in Toronto. As Canada’s largest gathering of magazine professionals, MagNet 2019 provided the opportunity to connect and learn from the industry’s top thinkers and innovators.
The conference sessions covered the latest trends in editorial content, design, circulation and revenue. From newsletters to blockchain, delegates were able to learn how their magazines can be successful in the digital age. In addition to informative sessions, delegates were also able to connect with exhibitors at MagNet Square. We even had a visit from our furry friends of the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dogs program. Woof! Woof!
This year’s conference also included a full-day Arts & Literary Magazines Summit curated by Lindsay Nixon. The summit focused on the the theme of “Transformations,” addressing reconciliation, representation and publishing in the era of #MeToo.
Resources from this year’s conference will be added to the MagNet multimedia page shortly. Visit magnet.magazinescanada.ca/multimedia to find event photos and session presentations to review and share, as well as exclusive Q&As with MagNet speakers. Check back often as we’ll be posting new content throughout the month! Until then you can find our favourite MagNet 2019 moments on Twitter using the hashtag #MagNet19.
We would also like to take this time to thank our incredible organizational partners, sponsors, funders and volunteers. MagNet 2019 would not be possible without you.
