Make Your Voice Heard! Share Your Thoughts on Our 2018–2023 Strategic Plan
Over the last year, Magazines Canada has worked on a strategic planning process with members, various committees and task groups, and the Board. The result is a draft Strategic Plan for 2018–2023. We would like to invite you—our members and partners—to provide comment as we finalize our strategy.
This final step in our process is the best way to help shape your association for the next five years, and the Board will review all feedback received before finalizing the plan in 2018. Thanks in advance for your support of our industry group and for taking an active role in what we do next. Read more, and share your feedback!

Advocacy Update: NAFTA
With the NAFTA renegotiation now underway, we’re working to provide the Canadian government with insight on the needs and priorities of our sector.
Magazines Canada CEO Matthew Holmes has been appointed to Canadian Heritage’s Ad Hoc Cultural Sector Advisory Group and has met with Canada’s chief negotiator, Steve Verheul, as well as members of Global Affairs Canada and Canadian Heritage supporting the Canadian delegation.
The negotiations could touch on a variety of topics with implications for cultural industries, including magazine media: from the long-standing “cultural exemption” to copyright law and tax policy on foreign advertisers.
Once the negotiations have progressed through the fall, we will consult with members on specific issues or any concerns you may have.
