The Business Information & Media Summit, or BIMS, kicks off today in Florida—and Canadian magazines are there! Magazines Canada and a delegation of Canadian B2B magazine publishers are in Fort Lauderdale attending the Summit from November 12–14, 2018.
BIMS is an annual conference for business media magazines with sessions on audience engagement, data, advertising and marketing services, revenue-generating marketing and executive strategy. It is is hosted by SIIA, the trade association for companies involved in the creation and delivery of business information, and in particular by their Connectiv (business information) division.
The Canadian delegation is made up of magazine professionals from across the country, from business media titles, large and small. Delegates include representatives from Canadian Forest Industries, Collision Repair, Landscape Trades, Oral Health, Renew Canada, Rural Delivery and Sign Media.
Over 350 business information leaders and 60 speakers attend the three-day conference, which is designed to be interactive and give attendees an opportunity to share challenges and solutions in a workshop setting.
The Canadian delegation to BIMS is part of the Magazines Canada Export Program, which supports Canadian magazines in building communities of readership in international markets, and exploring new partnership opportunities, by providing financial support for outgoing delegations to international trade events and conferences.
Magazines Canada members who participate in delegations will attend presentations and other professional development to help their operations prosper, and meet new platform and service providers, magazine professionals and thought leaders from around the world.
Upcoming delegations include the FIPP Digital Innovators’ Summit in Berlin, Germany in March 2019, and the FIPP World Congress in Las Vegas, Nevada in October 2019. For more on planned delegations and program information, please visit magazinescanada.ca/program/export.
