Applications for Magazines Canada Fellowship Program Open January 14

Magazines Canada will begin accepting applications for our third annual Fellowship program on January 14, 2019.

Interested journalists, students and recent graduates, as well as magazines interested in hosting a Fellow, will be able to apply at magazinescanada.ca/program/fellowships.

Magazines Canada Fellowships seek to develop the next generation of professionals working in Canadian magazine media. The Fellowship program was launched in 2016 to invest in the future of the magazine sector by supporting emerging journalists through a series of paid fellowships with Canadian magazines across the country.

With a paid position at a host magazine, Magazines Canada Fellows have the opportunity to explore stories that inform, engage and deepen the national conversation on issues that drive our country forward. Fellows work with a lead mentor at their host magazine, gain valuable experience and broaden their professional network. A Fellow’s salary is covered by the Magazines Canada Fellowship program and includes a contribution from the host magazine. Fellows have the opportunity to choose their host magazine from eligible expressions of interest.

Applications open: January 14, 2019
Applications close: February 15, 2019

Magazines Canada is committed to equity and inclusion. We welcome applications to the 2019 Fellowship program from diverse Indigenous, cultural and regional communities. Magazines Canada Fellowships are open to Canadian journalists, students and recent graduates, as well as international students studying in Canada.

The adjudication process for the Fellowships allows for a diversity of views to inform a collective evaluation process, and the adjudication panel reflects Canada’s official languages and its diverse Indigenous, cultural and regional communities.

There is no fee to apply for the Magazines Canada Fellowship program.
