The Alberta Magazine Publishers Association (AMPA) has announced the showcase category finalists for the 2018 Alberta Magazine Awards.

Among the finalist magazines are 11 Magazines Canada members, including Alberta Views, Avenue Calgary, Avenue Edmonton, Canadian Rockies Annual, Eighteen Bridges, FreeFall, filling Station, Glass Buffalo, Greenhouse, On Spec and Western Living. Our congratulations to our members, and to all of the nominees!

Winners will be announced at an awards gala a month from today on March 8 in Calgary during the Alberta Magazines Conference.

The showcase category awards celebrate excellence in Alberta magazine editorial and design. There were more than 250 entries in this year’s 20 showcase award categories. From AMPA’s executive director Suzanne Trudel: “Collectively these individuals bring insight to our unique Alberta culture and ensure Alberta voices and stories are shared and heard throughout the province and beyond our borders.”

Next, AMPA will also announce the achievement award recipients and the finalists for Magazine of the Year and Best New Magazine.
