Artificial Intelligence and the Magazine Publishing Industry Questionnaire

Jan 26, 2026

The Canadian Magazine Coalition—Magazines Canada, the Alberta Magazine Publishers Association (AMPA), l’Association québécoise des éditeurs de magazines (AQEM), and the Magazine Association of BC (MagsBC)—is seeking to understand how Canadian magazine publishers perceive the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on their day-to-day work and on the future of magazine publishing. As AI adoption accelerates, understanding its real-world effects is essential to informing sector policy, strengthening copyright protections, and supporting a fair and sustainable publishing environment.

The survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete and is intended for individuals working within magazine publishing organizations. Responses from consultants or freelancers are welcome when submitted on behalf of a magazine organization.

All responses are confidential and will be used solely to inform shared planning, advocacy, and decision‑making within the magazine community. Should you wish to be entered into a draw to win of one of three $100 gift cards, please include your email address at the end of the survey.

Please complete the survey by Monday, Feb. 9, 2026.
