Join the Alberta Magazine Publishers Association on Tuesday, October 16 for the workshop “Creating and promoting great podcasts” presented by Sarah Hoyles.

Using a mix of theory, case studies and hands on experimentation, this full-day workshop will teach you the basics of how to create and edit podcasts and get them in front of your audience.

We’ll cover:

• What makes a good podcast, from conceptualization to frequency and branding
• The focus statement and scripting
• Audio gathering and equipment
• Editing and uploading
• Distribution and promotion

Sarah Hoyles has been working in broadcast journalism and podcasting for more than a decade. She’s spent that time at as a producer and host at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) as well as at the Alberta-wide public radio network, CKUA. Now she develops and produces branded podcasts, content and communications for a variety of clients.
