An Indigenous Perspective on Media

MagsBC, AMPA, Magazines Canada, AQEM members, and students: $12 for one seat or $17 for two seats
Non-Members: $22 for one seat or $27 for two seats.

Eden Fineday is the publisher of IndigiNews, one of few Indigenous-women-led journalism outlets globally. Eden and her colleagues are leading a new way to practise journalism in Indigenous communities and on Indigenous issues. They have developed trauma-informed journalism practices, which prioritise the cultural safety of staff and community members while decolonizing the practice of journalism at the same time. In this hour, Eden will share her cultural perspectives on journalism and publishing, with the hopes that sharing her worldview can effect positive change in our shared sector and communities.

This webinar is brought to you by the Magazine Association of BC, Alberta Magazine Publishers Association, Magazines Canada and L’Association québécoise des éditeurs de magazines.
